Peer Review Process

Haqqiyyah: Journal of Islamic and Legal Studies implements a rigorous double-blind peer review process to ensure the quality, originality, and academic integrity of all published manuscripts.

  1. Submission: Authors submit their manuscript through the online submission system.
  2. Initial Check: The editorial team reviews the manuscript for compliance with the journal's guidelines and scope.
  3. Plagiarism Screening: Manuscripts are screened using plagiarism detection tools (e.g., Turnitin).
  4. Double-Blind Review: The manuscript is sent to two or more reviewers who are experts in the field. Both authors and reviewers remain anonymous.
  5. Review Decision: Based on the reviewers’ feedback, the editorial board makes one of the following decisions:
    • Accepted
    • Minor Revision
    • Major Revision
    • Rejected
  6. Revision Process: If revision is requested, the author revises the manuscript and resubmits it for re-evaluation.
  7. Final Decision: The editor-in-chief makes the final decision on publication.
  8. Copyediting & Layout: Accepted manuscripts undergo copyediting, layout, and proofreading before publication.

The average review time is approximately 2–4 weeks depending on the availability of reviewers and the complexity of the manuscript.

All review activities are carried out with strict confidentiality, objectivity, and adherence to publication ethics.
